THUNDER BAY — A resident of a Lincoln Road condominium complicated was taken to hospital for therapy after a fireplace broke out on the second ground of McIvor Court docket.
In a launch issued on Wednesday night, Thunder Bay hearth rescue stated the decision got here in at about 2 p.m. and upon arrival the primary unit on scene confirmed their was a working hearth in a second-floor condominium, with smoke pouring out of a window.
Upon entry to the unit, hearth crews reported heavy black smoke and a fireplace within the bed room space. The hearth was shortly knocked down and the resident was situated and handled by Superior North EMS paramedics earlier than being taken to hospital for additional analysis.
No different occupants of the six-storey constructing had been displaced due to the fireplace.
The Ontario Fireplace Marshall has been notified and can take over the investigation on Thursday in an try to find the reason for the fireplace.
