THUNDER BAY, Ont. — Final Monday was a day that Kathy Shyiak will always remember.

Shyiak was stopped at a pink gentle on her approach residence in Thunder Bay — on Balsam Road within the left flip lane. Because the superior inexperienced got here up, the truck throughout the freeway within the left flip lane began “going crazy” together with his lights.

The continuous flashing lights caught Shyiak’s consideration, inflicting her to delay hitting the gasoline.

“All of a sudden this transport just speeds by me – ran the red light not even trying to stop,” she stated.

In that second Shyiak felt like she was paralyzed. She was in shock and couldn’t imagine what had occurred.

She knew the motive force throughout the freeway had been warning her of what was about to occur.

“They saved my life. They completely saved my life. I’ve to thank them for not being busy and seeing that the transport had no intention of stopping.

“They were watching the highway and saw that, then saw me with the light about to turn green. And if it was not for him doing that, I would have been killed on impact,” she stated.

Shyiak described the transport as a white unmarked transport truck.

“I did go back to that intersection and I realized that it’s really hard for the person turning left (going westbound) to have a clear view.”

Shiak stated the realm must be cleared of bush to assist with visibility.

There must be “Put together to cease” flashing lights for folks travelling eastbound, Shyiak stated.

“There’s one travelling westbound, nevertheless it would not make sense to me why there is not one going eastbound.

“Does it have to take a fatality for them to put one up?” she stated.

The entire state of affairs runs by Shyiak’s thoughts on a regular basis.

“If it wasn’t for that different driver, flashing these lights, I’d have simply turned. It replays in my head again and again at that second when he flashed his lights.

“Once the transport passed, I couldn’t move for a minute and then I just waved, I just continued to wave to that driver on the other side of Balsam and then he put his hand out the window and gave me the thumbs up and then waved back to me. I turned onto the highway and drove home.”

If it was not for the opposite driver doing that, she would have been killed on impression, Shyiak stated.

“It was not even a query. My automotive would have been in Vance Chapman Faculty. That is how briskly the transport was going.”

Shyiak needs to precise her gratitude to the one that caught her consideration in that second.

“I need to say thanks for doing that and saving my life.

“But I think it’s a long shot. I’ll never find them, but I wish I could say thank you.”

After this case occurred, Shyiak stated she has been attempting to have a look at the constructive.

“I want to simply accept that it wasn’t my time and that I’ve an angel watching over me. I simply must try to take into consideration the constructive of it, that I did have someone searching for me, that I didn’t step on the gasoline, that I didn’t flip at the moment after which that transport handed me.

“I’m fascinated with the constructive of the entire scenario and never what may have been as a result of that did not occur. It is me processing in my thoughts the nice of the entire occasion.

“It actually has modified the way in which that I view drivers and the way in which that I drive now. I used to be actually anxious for the primary couple of days of even driving, wanting over my shoulder, wanting and panning the realm. However slowly it is getting higher.

“I was one gas pedal forward away from losing my life if it wasn’t for that driver.”
