THUNDER BAY – The deep freeze that’s set in over Thunder Bay goes to have a little bit endurance.

“That’s normal. We expect that in Thunder Bay in wintertime. The normal high this time of year is -9, the normal low is -20, so we’re getting that kind of weather, essentially,” Kimbell stated.

“We’re pretty much in the ballpark for normal,” Kimbell stated.
“We actually have a little bit below normal temperatures coming in the next couple of days, with a high of -15 tomorrow and a high of -15 on Wednesday, so below normal temperatures. But this is Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario, where we expect cold temperatures in January.”
It’s nothing new, he added.
“Have we seen these kinds of temperatures before? Absolutely. It’s nothing new for Thunder Bay.”
That stated, there may be anticipated to be a short reprieve from the chilly, with temperatures anticipated to heat up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday earlier than dipping again to -17 C on Monday.
On Friday the mercury may attain as excessive as -3 C.
