The Ontario Provincial Police are trying to find a person who called 911 over the weekend from Dalewood Conservation Area, located just north of St. Thomas.
According to Elgin County OPP, they were alerted by local paramedics around 2 a. m. on Sunday that they couldn’t locate someone who had called in distress from the nature area in Central Elgin.
Police state that they, along with the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team, have been actively searching for the individual.
In a statement released late Sunday morning, police mentioned there would be an increased presence in the area while looking for the person who requested assistance. It’s unclear if police remained at the location on Monday.
“If you are the person who called for help or know who it was, please contact Elgin County OPP at 1-888-310-1122,” police said.
