Celebrating Canada Day 2026 in Niagara

Celebrating Canada Day 2026 in Niagara

On Wednesday, folks throughout Niagara will proudly celebrate Canada Day on July 1 with events happening in various cities and towns.

Here’s a look at some activities planned for Canada’s 159th birthday.

St. Catharines, Ont.

At Montebello Park located at 64 Ontario St., there will be a fun-filled day of music, food, and festivities from noon to 10 p. m. Kids can enjoy entertainment featuring Rockin’ Time with Mr. Rob and Friends (12:15 p. m.) and The Mountain Man, Spencer Burton (1:15 p. m.).

Main acts include the Strictly Hip (2:15 p. m.), Lincoln and Welland Foundation Band (4 p. m. after remarks), Thuds (5:45 p. m.), Julianna Riolino (5:45 p. m.), Sully Burrows (7 p. m.), and The Trews (8:15 p. m.).

You can catch free shuttle buses looping from the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre starting at noon. Plus, parking in downtown lots and garages is free.

The fireworks show will kick off at 10 p. m. at Rennie Park located at 60 Lakeport Rd.

Niagara Falls, Ont.

Join us from noon to 8 p. m. at Firemen’s Park situated at the corner of Mountain Road and Dorchester Road for music, interactive kids shows, food trucks, artisans, vendors, and even a giant Canada Day cake!

Main stage performances include Niagara Zest for Zumba (12:10 p. m.), Starla Silvestri (12:45 p. m.), Niagara Falls Youth Performance Feature: Daniel Akanji Trio (1:45 p. m.), Niagara Falls Youth Performance Feature: Juliette Sullivan (2:15 p. m.), Irish Millie (2:45 p. m.), Niagara African Caribbean Cultural Organization (3:45 p. m.), Mage (4:30 p. m.), Andy Colonico (5:30 p. m.), Mystic Highway-a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute-(6:30 p. m. to 8 p. m.).

The kids zone stage runs from noon to 6 p. m.

Parking is limited but available for $10. There’s also a free shuttle service with stops at the Niagara Falls Transit Downtown Hub, Gale Centre, Main and Ferry, Canadian Drive at Niagara Square, and Mac Bain Community Centre.

The falls

Starting at 8:30 p. m., Niagara Parks will light up the falls in red and white every hour for a duration of 15 minutes.

An extended fireworks display will happen at 10 p. m., synced to Canadian-themed music broadcasted on Kiss 98.5 FM.

Welland, Ont.

Merritt Park located at 151 King St. will host live music and entertainment along with food trucks, vendors, and interactive games from 2 p. m. to 6 p. m. An evening concert featuring Vinyl Flux, Revolver & Friends alongside Charissa kicks off at the park amphitheatre around 6 pm.

The fireworks are set for around 10 pm.

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.

This event takes place from 10 a. m. until 10 pm at Fort George Historic Site located at 51 Queen’s Parade; however buildings close by 5 pm.

Evening entertainment starts around 6:30 pm featuring Fort George Infantry Fife & Drum Corps along with Howling Horns followed by fireworks scheduled for 10 pm.

Fort Erie, Ont.

A celebration hosted by Matt Goch Real Estate Group along with Tranquility through Therapy runs from   3 pm until   10 pm   at Ferndale Park found at   865 Ferndale Ave., showcasing inflatables, food trucks, local vendors, kids’ activities all day plus karaoke and live shows too!

Port Colborne , Ont.

At H. H. Knoll Lakeview Park located at160 Sugarloaf St. from 10a m till4 pm. This gathering offers craft vendor fair , giant penny sale , live entertainment , food vendors, kids ’ activities , train rides, birds of prey , alpacas , pony rides, and more.

A fireworks display is expected alongthe canal around 10pm depending on Seaway traffic.
