NIAGARA FALLS – A motorist has been arrested and faces multiple charges after being caught driving at 225 km/h in a zone where the speed limit is 100 km/h.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at 1:26 a. m., an officer from the Niagara Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) was conducting routine speed checks on the Fort Erie bound QEW near Glendale Ave in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The officer noticed a vehicle speeding significantly, clocked at 225 km/h. The vehicle was pulled over, and the sole occupant failed a roadside breath test.
Following the investigation, Timothy Randall, age 36 from St. Catharines, was charged with:
Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) Dangerous Operation Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed Speeding 50+ km/h Over Posted Limit Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence Drive Motor Vehicle – No Permit Fail to Have Insurance Card
The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been impounded for 14 days.
He has been released from custody and is set to appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines on December 7, 2026.
