Help Needed to Identify Theft Suspect

Authorities are asking for assistance in identifying a suspect after a credit card was taken from a mailbox near Port Dover.

Norfolk OPP report that between Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14, items were stolen from a mailbox at a residence on Concession 5 Woodhouse.

The police say the stolen credit card was subsequently used at a shop on Main Street in Port Dover just before 2 p. m. on Feb. 14.

They describe the suspect as around 30 years old with reddish-brown facial hair who was seen wearing a yellow toque and a black jacket at the time the card was used.

A Norfolk resident found hiding in home facing charges

A man from Norfolk County is facing charges related to an alleged break-in in Simcoe.

On Feb. 18 at just before 6 a. m., officers responded to reports of suspected breaking and entering at a house on Kent Street North and discovered someone hiding inside.

The individual has been charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling house and failing to comply with probation orders.

Two individuals charged with impaired driving in separate incidents

Norfolk County OPP have charged two people following different impaired driving situations.

On Feb.14 around  1 :20 p. m., police stopped traffic on James Street in Simcoe.

A  55 – year – old Norfolk County resident received charges.

Later that evening , around  11 :00 p. m., an officer spotted someone speeding along Queensway East in Simcoe.

A  35 – year – old Thames Centre resident received charges.

Police search of Tillsonburg home yields drugs

A  57 – year – old is facing multiple charges after authorities confiscated illegal substances from a Tillsonburg residence.

Officers from Oxford OPP , along with Brant and Norfolk Community Street Crimes Unit , assisted during an investigation led by Oxford OPP Community Street Crimes Unit.

In addition to the drugs , executing the search warrant also resulted in seizing property related to offenses from inside a home on Venison Street in Tillsonburg.

Police took into custody one Tillsonburg resident on Feb.18 who now faces three counts of possession for trafficking relating to cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioids; obstruction of peace officer; as well as possession of property obtained through crime valued under $5,000.
