Ontario Provincial Police have taken a woman from Norfolk County into custody following a robbery attempt at a business in Simcoe on Thursday morning along Queensway West.
According to Norfolk County OPP, officers were alerted around 6:10 a. m. about a robbery occurring at a location between Hunt and Norfolk streets.
The police reported that the woman, armed with an edged weapon, allegedly demanded cash from an employee and tried to steal some items.
The effort did not succeed, and the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading south toward North Main Street.
Investigators later located her at a residence on Queen St. North in Simcoe and arrested her without any trouble.
Sasha Sullivan, 25, from Norfolk County faces charges including robbery with violence, assault with a weapon, and disguising with intent.
Sullivan is currently in custody and is set to appear for a bail hearing at the Simcoe courthouse on Friday.
