A resident from Mississauga has been charged after a Norfolk County OPP officer was hurt during an investigation into a domestic violence situation.

On Sunday, Nov. 16 just before 5 p. m., police received a call about a dispute between two individuals at a home in Norfolk County. According to the police report, an officer was physically attacked while trying to intervene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with obstructing a peace officer; assaulting a peace officer; and making threats – causing death or bodily harm.

Charges related to domestic violence incidents
A 30-year-old resident from Oxford County faces multiple charges connected to an intimate partner violence incident at a residence in Norfolk County.

The police responded to the home on Nov. 14 shortly after 7:30 p. m., where two people were involved in an altercation. One person assaulted the other, stole and damaged their belongings, and made threats according to police reports. No injuries were reported.
The accused is charged with spousal assault; mischief – domestic; making threats – causing death or bodily harm – spousal; and theft under $5,000.
Driver involved in single-car crash faces DUI charges
A young man from Norfolk County is facing drinking and driving charges following a single-car accident on Nov.14 on Concession 12 in Townsend just outside Simcoe.
Officers from Norfolk County OPP were sent to the scene of the collision involving a pickup truck around 9:16 p. m. They found that the vehicle had been traveling along Concession 13 when it veered off the road and went into a ditch before hitting a tree.

No injuries were reported and authorities took the driver into custody without any issues.
The accused faces charges for impaired driving, driving over the legal alcohol limit and dangerous driving. He is expected to appear in court at Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Dec.2.
Barns targeted by thieves
The Norfolk County OPP are reminding residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity following two break-ins on Fisher’s Glen Road in Vittoria.
The police were called to Vittoria to look into these break-ins around4:31 p. m. on Nov.15. When they arrived they discovered that two barns had been entered unlawfully.
No items have been reported stolen.
