Police say a 66-year-old woman is facing trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed earlier this week
A woman has been charged after prescription drugs and thousands of contraband cigarettes were seized Wednesday in Adjala-Tosorontio Township.
In early fall, police received information that a woman was trafficking drugs in the Town of New Tecumseth.
“Through surveillance and investigative techniques, officers observed activity consistent with drug trafficking and obtained a search warrant,” Nottawasaga OPP said in a news release.
Shortly before 12:30 p. m. Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at a home on County Road 50, where police seized oxycodone, lorazepam, tramadol, trazodone, about 14,000 contraband cigarettes, drug trafficking indicia, and $1,960 in cash.
A 66-year-old woman has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (other drugs), trafficking a Schedule 1 substance (other drugs) and trafficking in contraband tobacco.
She is set to appear in court Feb. 19.
