Three individuals are facing a combined total of 42 charges following a traffic stop in Leamington early Wednesday morning.

The Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Erie Street South at Mill Street West around 4 a. m. after it ran a red light.

Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered weapons and cannabis easily accessible to the driver.

A 33-year-old man from Lakeshore is charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, careless storage of a firearm, transporting a firearm carelessly, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

An 18-year-old from Windsor was arrested and faces 18 charges overall, including being an unaccompanied G1 license holder, having cannabis readily available in the vehicle, driving without insurance, running a red light, unsafe lane changes, and weapons-related charges.

The OPP also charged a 26-year-old man from Windsor with weapons offenses that include possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, careless transportation of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm.

Two of them appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor for bail hearings while the third individual will appear in court later on.
