Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Trevor Jones stated that rural communities are essential to Ontario’s economy as he revealed funding for two projects, one in Chatham-Kent and another in Leamington.

The Brew on the 42 Waterfront Market Plaza in Leamington will receive $48,484 from the Rural Ontario Development Fund, while $50,000 has been allocated for the Chatham-Kent Museum Exhibition and Interpretive Plan.

These initiatives are among the first to be approved for funding through the Rural Ontario Development Fund.

“These investments will help strengthen our local economy, support job creation, enhance tourism opportunities, and preserve important community assets,” said Jones.

Since 2019, the province has invested $34.3 million into 653 projects via the ROD program and its predecessor, the Rural Economic Development Fund.
