A one-and-a-half-year-old boy has lost his life, and several others have been hurt after a vehicle crashed into a child care centre in Richmond Hill, Ont., on Wednesday afternoon.
York Regional Police reported that a car went through the window of the building close to Yonge Street and Nottingham Drive around 3 p. m., hitting multiple staff members and young children.
“The centre was open at the time, with numerous employees and children inside,” Const. Kevin Nebrija stated on Wednesday evening.

A 1.5-year-old boy was declared dead, while another child is in serious condition, according to police reports. The other children and staff who were hit sustained non-life-threatening injuries. York Regional Police said a man in his 70s was arrested at the scene, but they currently believe this was an unfortunate accident.
