York Region Public Health inspectors issued citations to Bing Hair Salon on Major Mc Kenzie Drive and Top Beauty Nail on Yonge Street.
Last week, two salons in Richmond Hill faced charges during inspections by York Region Public Health.
Bing Hair Salon, located at 1930 Major Mc Kenzie Drive E., and Top Beauty Nail at 9196 Yonge St. both received fines for failing to meet sanitation and equipment standards.
Bing Hair Salon was ticketed on March 31 after an inspection on March 27 revealed that the salon did not keep its equipment clean and in proper condition, failed to sterilize reusable tools, and did not maintain a fixture properly, as noted in the inspection report. A follow-up inspection on March 31 showed no problems. Inspectors issued a ticket and displayed a public health notice.
Top Beauty Nail was found lacking in maintaining a fixture properly. Other issues, such as not discarding single-use items and not keeping reusable equipment up to standard, were addressed during the April 2 inspection. Inspectors displayed a public health notice and provided a ticket.
The inspection reports reflect the state of the personal care facilities at the time of the check only and do not guarantee their condition at any other time, according to the public health unit.
