Strong downpours are likely until Thursday night throughout much of western Quebec and parts of eastern Ontario.

Environment Canada has kept a rainfall warning that runs from Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula all the way to communities north of Montreal, including Maniwaki, Algonquin Park, and Deep River.

A total of between 40 and 60 millimeters of rain is expected.

The rain should begin overnight and wrap up Thursday morning in eastern Ontario. In western Quebec, the heavy rains are expected to last through Thursday.

“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads,” the warning reads.
