There are more school buses operating compared to the previous day, but many are still cancelled in eastern Ontario on Thursday.
Difficult road conditions, mainly due to snow, have led to English school buses not running across Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO), specifically in Renfrew County’s Madawaska area and locations north of Kingston and Belleville.
(Tri-Board)
For the second consecutive day, French buses are also not running under the Consortium de transport scolaire de l’est (CTSE), nor for Brockville, Carleton Place, Almonte, Prescott-Russell, Marionville, Merrickville and Kemptville schools under the Consortium de transport scolaire d’Ottawa (CTSO).
Buses are functioning elsewhere, including both English and French routes in Ottawa as well as other parts of Renfrew County.
Generally, schools remain open when buses are cancelled. Please check with your school or board for specific options.
As of Thursday morning, all local snowfall warnings have been lifted following a snowy Wednesday.
The Ottawa International Airport recorded nearly 14 centimetres of snow since late Tuesday as of midnight Wednesday into Thursday.
