Filming has began on collection 4 of BBC Northern Eire police drama Hope Avenue and there’s a new Police Inspector taking cost.

Set within the fictional city of Port Devine on the Northern Eire coast and filmed in and round Co Down’s seaside city of Donaghadee, the drama has confirmed to be widespread with followers throughout the UK and past.

Derry Ladies star Tara Lynne O’Neill is among the many new names becoming a member of the forged this collection alongside Marcus Onilude (Ted Lasso).

Tara Lynne performs new Police Inspector Eve Dunlop, a personality who left Port Devine a few years in the past and has now returned along with her household to construct bridges and to research a mysterious disappearance.

Tara Lynne O’Neill stated: “I’m completely delighted to be becoming a member of Hope Avenue and can’t wait to work by the ocean. Port Devine be careful!”

Returning for this eight-part collection are Kerri Quinn (Marlene Pettigrew), Niall Wright (Callum McCarthy), Aaron McCusker (Clint Dunwoody), Niamh McGrady (Nicole Devine), Finnian Garbutt (Ryan Energy), Des McAleer (Barry Pettigrew), Rachel Tucker (Siobhan O’Hare) and Karen Hassan (Jo Lipton).

Hope Avenue celebrates native writing, appearing and manufacturing expertise from Northern Eire, and demonstrates the BBC’s dedication to nurturing homegrown expertise and storytelling in its nations and areas.

Eddie Doyle, Head of Content material Commissioning, BBC Northern Eire, says: “It’s nice to be again in Donaghadee, filming a fourth collection of Hope Avenue and this time spherical we’re welcoming a brand new household to Port Devine.

“I feel Hope Avenue captures the humour and heat of the folks right here and I’m actually wanting ahead to Tara-Lynne O’Neill, together with another new faces, becoming a member of the forged.

Behind the drama are acclaimed producers Paul Marquess and Donna Wiffen from Lengthy Story TV, identified for producing London Kills and The Gentle in The Corridor.

They are going to be joined by co-creator Susanne Farrell (Soiled God) and Producer John Fox.

The fourth collection has been commissioned as a part of the partnership between the BBC and Northern Eire Display which continues to help the native display screen trade, guaranteeing Northern Eire is healthier represented to audiences throughout the UK and internationally.

Filming on Hope Avenue collection 4 started in April 2024 and collection three is broadcasting now on Fridays at 1.45pm on BBC One.
