A tragic accident in the Township of Chatsworth has claimed the life of a 36-year-old man from Port Elgin.
On July 2, 2018, at around 5:15pm, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious car crash at the intersection of Grey Rd. 3 and Grey Rd. 40.
Investigators found that a Ford vehicle heading east on Grey Rd. 40 collided with a Mercedes vehicle going south on Grey Rd. 3.
The sole driver of the Ford, Robert Bradley Hillis, age 36, from Port Elgin, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.
A post-mortem examination is set for today in Owen Sound.
The driver of the Mercedes, a man aged 68, and his female passenger aged 66, both from Etobicoke, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Grey Bruce Paramedic Services, Bruce County Paramedics, the Chatsworth Fire Department, and South Bruce OPP all assisted at the scene.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are continuing their investigation into this incident.
