The group received Gold in U11 play following a nail-biting 11-10 win on the Ontario Minor Baseball Affiliation championships Labour Day weekend in Wyoming, ON.

The parade – a practice for provincial champs – began on the Port Elgin fireplace station and the group, driving excessive of their guardian’s vehicles, have been led by fireplace and police autos to The Plex the place the group and training employees posed for pictures and revelled of their current win.

“The message from coaching staff was that we had to be positive and we had to be confident. We knew we faced some of the best players on great teams, but we knew we were a great team too,” Conley mentioned after the parade.

“It’s okay if you don’t make that perfect catch or that perfect throw or hit. It’s all about resetting and focussing on the next play and that’s what this team did when it counted.”

Following the parade the group lined up within the council chambers to pose for pictures and obtain certificates from Mayor Luke Charbonneau who provided congratulations to the gamers, coaches, group supervisor and oldsters.
“Without them, we would not have the sports teams that we do. This is something that you will remember for the rest of your life,” Charbonneau mentioned.

The Gold medal recreation for the U11 rep group got here within the backside of the final inning with residence group Kingsville having final bat with two runners in scoring place and two out.
