Upon arrival, police discovered Anthony Dixon, age 17, who had been shot. Officers and paramedics tried to save him, but their attempts were futile and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Since the shooting, police have pursued every avenue possible to determine who is responsible.
Fawaz Sheikh, 22, from Ajax has been charged with one count of second-degree murder related to Dixon’s death.

James describes Anthony as a Grade 11 student at Pine Ridge Secondary School who was always a good kid.
“He did everything a normal 17-year-old was supposed to do,” he mentioned.
Anthony enjoyed listening to music, playing basketball and video games, spending quality time with friends and family, including his girlfriend.
The father shared that he and his wife often relied on Anthony for picking up their three younger sons from school or babysitting them.
“He was everybody’s world; he made everything work,” said Dixon at that time. “Without him, nothing works.”
