Peterborough police have taken one man into custody and charged him with second-degree murder related to a killing that took place in the city earlier this month.
Michael Waterman, age 44, has been charged concerning the murder that occurred in Peterborough on Dec. 6 and is also sought for his involvement in a deadly stabbing that happened Tuesday in Oshawa, according to a news release from the police on Friday.
Around 3 p.m. Friday, officers from the Investigative Services Unit learned that the suspect was present in Peterborough, leading local authorities to locate him at a residence near Dalhousie Road and Aylmer Road. When officers called out to him, Waterman surrendered without incident, as stated in the release.
Waterman is currently held in custody and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Saturday, according to officials.
