A 69-year-old man has lost his life following a motorcycle crash south of Peterborough on Friday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
The accident occurred at the intersection of County Road 2 and Bensfort Road in Peterborough County. Authorities received reports about the incident around 5:20 p. m.
In a news release on Saturday, police stated that the man, who was from Hastings, Ont., was thrown off his motorcycle. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a post on X Friday, the OPP expressed their gratitude to bystanders who attempted to assist the man.
A portion of County Road 2 remained closed for several hours while investigators worked to reconstruct the scene. It reopened around 10:15 p. m. on Friday.
