Donald Haubold Dragovich OBITUARY
Donald Haubold Dragovich was born on April 2, 1934, in Long Beach, California, and he passed away at his home in Ontario, California, on January 19, 2026, at the age of 91. He is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Shirleyann; their daughter, De Anna; granddaughters Alanna and Shannon; and nieces Christina and Jackie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene. Donald started working when he was just 10 years old, delivering newspapers for the Long Beach Press-Telegram. In his twenties, he served in the U. S. Army as a military policeman. Later on, he moved into healthcare and trained as an X-ray technician. Donald ultimately dedicated 28 years to running Overland Portable X-Ray Service with his wife and daughter. A lifelong learner, he earned a B. A. in Social Sciences and History from Cal State LA in the 1960s and later got a teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona in the 1990s when most of his peers were enjoying retirement. He worked as a substitute teacher and per diem X-ray technician until he was 82 years old. Most importantly, Donald valued his family above all else. He often said that his greatest joy was the love he shared with Shirleyann-his best friend and wife-his daughter De Anna, and his granddaughters whom he taught about generosity and a lifelong love for learning. Shirleyann will miss her “Donzy,” De Anna her “Dad,” and Alanna and Shannon their beloved “Grandpa Donald Duck.”Source link
