The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in North Perth report that a 19-year-old woman from Atwood, Ont., has died following a serious two-vehicle accident on Wednesday night.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene on Perth Line 72 near Perth Road 140 around 7:17 p. m. They attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead at the site.
The identity of the woman has not been disclosed.
A passenger and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Perth Line 72 was shut down between Road 147 and Road 136 for several hours during the night but has since reopened, according to police.
The investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing. Authorities ask anyone who witnessed the accident or has dashcam footage from that time in the area to reach out to Perth County OPP.
