Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in North Perth report that a 19-year-old woman from Atwood, Ont., has died following a serious two-vehicle accident on Wednesday night.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene on Perth Line 72 near Perth Road 140 around 7:17 p. m. They tried to perform life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The name of the woman has not been made public.
The driver and another passenger in the second vehicle were taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Perth Line 72 was closed between Road 147 and Road 136 for several hours overnight but has since reopened, according to police.
The investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has dashcam footage from that area during that time is encouraged to contact Perth County OPP.
