An arrest has taken place in Ontario related to the murder of an Ottawa man back in April, but authorities say two suspects believed to be hiding out in British Columbia are still unaccounted for.

A 46-year-old man from Perth, Michael Lewis, was taken into custody and charged this week by Ontario Provincial Police as part of their ongoing investigation into the death of Christo Allison Richards.

The Ottawa resident was discovered with severe injuries on April 12 in Last Duel Park in Perth. The 34-year-old was quickly transported to a trauma center but later succumbed to his injuries, leading to second-degree murder charges against Joseph Madore, 34, and Brayton Kennedy, 28, both from Ottawa.

According to OPP, Lewis faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder and is currently held in custody. He’s expected to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Tuesday.

Warrants for Madore and Kennedy remain active, with police stating on Sunday that they believe Madore may be in British Columbia and has known ties to Richmond, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Terrace areas.

Kennedy could also be somewhere in B. C., though police mentioned he might still be around the Ottawa area.

Both men have been charged; anyone who sees either one is advised not to approach them. Anyone with information about their location should reach out to the police.

Joseph Madore, left, and Brayton Kennedy are suspects in connection to the April 12 death of an Ottawa man found with life-threatening injuries in Perth, Ont. Police say the two men may be in B. C. OPP
