Environment Canada has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Ottawa, which could bring up to 100 mm of rain in some areas.
The alert indicates that total rainfall will range from 50 to 80 mm, but spots receiving 100 mm are those affected by several thunderstorms.
The heaviest downpour is expected Sunday evening, but it may continue into Monday morning in parts of Eastern Ontario.
There is a risk of flooding and pooling in low-lying regions, and residents are advised to steer clear of flooded roads.
