A third individual is now facing murder charges related to the case of a missing man whose remains were discovered in the Ottawa River.
Previously, Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged two individuals – Jessica St. Michael from Ottawa and Luc Décarie from St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec – with first-degree murder and indignity to a body.
On Thursday, a new suspect, Yvon Vieno, 38, also from Ottawa, has been charged with the same offenses, including conspiracy to commit murder.
The accused is currently in custody while awaiting a court appearance.
The trio has been charged in connection with the murder of Robert Prevost, who was reported missing in March 2025. He was last seen at his residence on Laurier Street in Clarence-Rockland the month before he went missing.
In May 2025, provincial officers responded to reports about a body found in the Ottawa River near Dallaire Street.
A postmortem examination helped police identify Prevost’s remains, which initiated an investigation into his death. Authorities have been treating the circumstances surrounding the 63-year-old’s death as a homicide since then.
