Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 53-year-old man from Ottawa with three more counts of sexual assault.

The investigation began on July 11, when someone reported a sexual assault that happened in April. The victim informed the police that the incident took place at a business in Beckwith Township.

During the investigation, officers arrested Jeremy Finn, who lives in Stittsville. They mentioned that he was “re-arrested” and now faces three “additional” counts of sexual assault.

He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario issued a statement in July regarding this case, confirming Finn’s charges.

In a statement to City News, the college acknowledged that the accused is facing further charges.

“He remains under investigation by the College and is not authorized to practice Massage Therapy in Ontario. CMTO takes allegations of this nature with the utmost seriousness and urges anyone with relevant information or concerns about this individual to contact the College immediately,” Sam Harris, interim director, policy & communications with the college, said.

The college’s website indicates that Finn faced disciplinary action in January 2023 due to “findings of professional misconduct.” His massage license was revoked for six months and he was fined $3,475 by the college.

The findings highlighted “long-standing boundary violations” and an “inappropriate relationship” with a client.

<p“ You engaged in behaviour that violated the physical integrity of your client. You exploited your position of trust towards your client while they were in a vulnerable state,” it details.

It also mentions that he was “required to complete education/remediation” after a committee raised concerns about him back in December 2021.
