The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Coaching and Expertise Growth is investigating the incident.
“The ministry expresses its condolences to the family and colleagues of the worker. A ministry inspector has been assigned to investigate. As the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide further information at this time,” the ministry stated in an announcement, in accordance with Ontario Chronicle.
In the meantime, Minto Canada – a house builder and developer – confirmed with Ontario Chronicle that the employee who sustained the autumn was a contractor.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the individual has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” stated chief working officer Brent Strachan, in accordance with the report.
Minto Canada can also be “fully cooperating” with the Ministry of Labour of their investigation, in accordance with the employer,” he stated.
