A new Nokia innovation campus is now being built in Ottawa’s Kanata North Technology Park. This 750,000-square-foot research and development facility is set to be a key player in the area’s tech industry.

Broccolini has been selected as Nokia’s partner for development and construction, taking charge of the entire project.

The start of construction signifies the kickoff of the active building phase, with project teams, tradespeople, and other partners getting to work on-site.

The campus is designed with high sustainability standards in mind, utilizing low-carbon materials and energy-efficient systems that align with LEED certification principles.

“To be chosen to develop and build a campus of this importance for a global technology leader is a mark of real trust, and it is exactly the kind of complex, high-profile work Broccolini is built to deliver,” said James Beach, executive vice-president of real estate development at Broccolini.

“This is one of the most significant projects in our history, and we are proud to be building it here in Ottawa.”

This project also supports Broccolini’s growth in the Ottawa market. The company announced plans to hire more staff locally across development, construction, and project delivery to assist with the Nokia campus and other regional initiatives.

The facility will enhance Nokia’s research and development efforts as they continue their involvement in Ottawa’s tech scene.
