Highway 17 was shut down for several hours on Wednesday following a serious crash involving two vehicles.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the highway between Storyland Road and Bruce Street, north of Renfrew, Ont., at around 10:05 a. m. Authorities reported that the collision resulted in injuries for four individuals in their early 20s. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A man, aged 77 from Ottawa, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The young adults were all passengers in the same vehicle.

The investigation is still underway, and police are asking anyone who saw the crash to reach out.
