An entrepreneur from Oshawa, who has been placing sports bets for years, woke up to discover he won almost $57,000 in the Ontario Lottery & Gaming POOLS game.
Tyrone Fernando mentioned that he’s been participating in POOLS for many years and only makes his bets during the NFL season.
“I was watching the game and went to bed before it was over,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim his prize. “The next morning, I checked my phone and saw that my teams had won. It made me so happy, but I still had no idea how much I’d won. When I brought my ticket to the store and found out, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had goosebumps!”
He plans to take some time before deciding what to do with his winnings. “I plan to celebrate with my wife by taking her on a fun trip.”
“I feel great,” Fernando added with a smile. “I feel so fortunate and am thrilled to accept this prize. I never imagined a win like this!”
