OSHAWA, ONTARIO – Ontario Tech University is excited to announce the start of construction on The Ridge-a new on-campus residence that will welcome students in Fall 2027. This important addition to campus reflects the university’s ongoing growth and dedication to improving student life. With its contemporary design, this residence will provide spaces that foster learning and a healthy academic-life balance while being conveniently located near classes and labs. It also aims to address the increasing demand for student housing in the area.

The residence will be built just north of the Campus Ice Centre along a natural waterway feature. It will open in stages: 450 beds during its first phase with plans for a total capacity of around 2,000 students long-term. This project supports Ontario Tech’s campus expansion strategy aimed at meeting current demands while preparing for future needs as it aims to serve up to 20,000 learners.

Ontario Tech is pleased to play a key role in this new residence by leasing university land for development purposes. A consortium led by Campus Suites and Woodbourne is tasked with completing this project while Campus Living Centres will manage its operations.
