Big Air All-Stars Live show at Oshawa Tribute Centre had no alcohol available after license expired
An administrative mistake left guests at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa feeling a bit parched this weekend after venue operators Oak View Group allowed their liquor license to lapse.
This error meant that there were no alcohol sales during the Oshawa Generals’ games on Friday and Saturday, as well as the Big Air All-Stars Live show on Saturday.
Beer was available at the Hardy concert on Thursday, but it was two days after the license had expired, according to information from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission website.
The city released a statement saying they were made aware of this administrative mistake, with operators expecting to resume liquor sales for the next Generals home game on Friday against Peterborough.
Oak View Group is responsible for securing and keeping up with the liquor license for the city regarding the Tribute Centre, and a spokesperson confirmed it was an “administrative error” that caused the lapse. “We apologize for the disruption in service.”
The hockey team, which receives a share of concession profits as part of their agreement, has not commented on this situation.
