The holiday season officially begins in Oshawa on November 20 with the return of the Bright and Merry Market. This annual event turns the area around City Hall’s Civic Square into a festive gathering filled with sparkling lights and lots of holiday spirit.
Guests can enjoy live entertainment and street performers throughout the event, including shows at nearby Memorial Park, as well as family activities. You can also get creative with hands-on art activities provided by Living Room Community Art Hive or help paint a bus with Durhamways.
This yearly celebration includes rides around downtown Oshawa on a holiday trolley, festive decorations, and a chance for kids of all ages to take photos with Santa.
Park Illumination: At 8:30 p. m., join us at the North Parkette at City Hall for our official kickoff.
The city will celebrate the start of the festive season in style at North Parkette at 8:30 p. m., where the park will be illuminated with beautiful lights and installations.
A vendor market will showcase handmade gifts, unique treasures, and holiday finds from talented local artisans and creators. You’ll also have opportunities to visit downtown’s local shops and businesses.
“It’s the perfect opportunity,” the city noted in a news release, “to shop local and support small businesses this holiday season!”
