Thomas (Tom) Phillip Zarembinski, 63, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Sandstone, MN. He was born on July 3, 1962, and grew up in Little Canada, MN, where he made many lasting memories and friendships.
Tom proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. He carried that same sense of dedication, strength, and resilience throughout his life.
A lifelong hockey fan, Tom found great joy both on and off the ice. He loved the game and especially enjoyed coaching young players over the years. The lessons he shared went beyond the rink and left a meaningful impact on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Shirley (Gegen) Zarembinski, as well as by his sisters, Mary Kay Borchardt and Teri Emberson.
Tom is survived by his loving daughter, Taylor Leary and her husband Pat; his son, Davis Zarembinski and his wife Isabel; and his adored grandchildren Boston, Crosby, and Poppi who brought him immense happiness.
He is also survived by his siblings Lynette Zarembinski; Sue Schmidt (Paul); Tim Zarembinski (Neva); Dave Zarembinski; and Dan Zarembinski (Tracy), along with many nieces and nephews who will hold him close to their hearts.
The family will hold a small service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery to honor Tom’s life.

Tom will be remembered for his love of hockey, his service to the country, and the positive influence he had through coaching friendships with those in his life.
