December 30, 1937- March 5, 2026

Theresa Doski, originally named Czeslawa Jaremko, was born in Nagorzanka, Poland on December 30, 1937. During the war, she had to leave Poland and ended up in Germany. There, she met her first husband and welcomed her daughter Eleanor. Seeking a better future for herself and her daughter, she moved to Canada in the late 1950s and later had another daughter named Jean. Theresa worked as a chambermaid and then joined the janitorial staff at Sherbrooke School in Thunder Bay. Baba had a deep love for animals, particularly cats; throughout her life, she cared for many cats as well as a dog. Our grandmother was known for her warmth and generosity towards everyone she encountered. Family and friends affectionately called her “baba.”

Our grandmother Theresa bravely fought against dementia for several years before passing away peacefully in her sleep.

Theresa Doski, our beloved “baba,” is survived by many family members: grandchildren Sherry Kuzior (also known as Dakota), Jamie Kuzior, Kelly Kuzior, and Nicole Laird; great-grandchildren Lorissa Maclaurin, Jamie Potinteau, Braiden Trimboli, Chance Smith, Ashton Harju, Taiya Laberge; along with great-great-grandchildren Harlem Le Garde and Dusty. She is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Doski and two daughters Eleanor Laird and Jean Hugowski.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather for Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm at St. Casimir’s R. C. Church (613 Mc Kenzie Street), led by Rev. Piotr Dudek. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The arrangements have been entrusted to Blake Funeral Chapel at 200 May Street S.
