Age 65, from Little Canada, passed away on August 29, 2025.
Steve was a proud member of IBEW Local 23 and was affectionately known as Steve or “Fido” by his friends and family.
Born on September 6, 1959, he lived in Little Canada and died on August 29, 2025, while recovering from a fall. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Feidt, and father-in-law, Dennis Miller. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (Miller); son Matthew; daughter Melissa (Josh) Jereczek; stepdaughters Tera (Tony) Sobaskie and Katey (Ryan) Schultz; grandchildren Liam, Finley, Greyson, and Soleil; mother Marian; mother-in-law Dorothy Miller; brother Rick (Lenne); along with many dear cousins and friends.
Steve attended the chef training program at 916 Vo-Tech and had a passion for cooking. Later on, he switched careers and dedicated the next four decades to working at the Allen S. King plant in Bayport, Minnesota. He started as a Coal and Ash Handler by Barge (Monkey) and climbed up to become the Standing Foreman of the Plant where he held a Chief A Supercritical Boilers license from the Department of Labor and Industry.
As one of the last Coal and Ash Handlers who moved up to Lead Control Room Operator position, “Steve was considered to have been the best Chief of Control Room Operations and Maintenance. Everyone at the plant loved ‘Fido University’ – a legend at the plant.” (Matt K. – retired).
After retiring, Steve continued to enjoy life by spending time with his children, being up north with Bonnie, cherishing moments with all his friends and family members. He loved taking trips on his Harley motorcycle as well as visiting the State Fair. His winter vacations were often spent in Florida while also caring for his four grandkids – who brought him immense joy. Steve’s smile, wisdom, and kind spirit will be greatly missed.
Bonnie and Steve were truly soul mates; she completed him. “Love you thru infinity Babe!!” – Steve told Bonnie from his hospital bed.
A celebration of Steve’s life will take place on Saturday, September 27th at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville), located at 2130 N. Dale St., near County Rd. B. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:30 pm with a memorial service following afterward.
Right after the service at the funeral home there will be an additional gathering open for everyone to attend which will take place in the lower level at Hoggsbreath Bar & Restaurant located at 2504 Rice St., Little Canada.
