In Loving Memory
Virginia Villalta
March 3, 1925 – December 25, 2025
With her family by her side, Virginia peacefully passed into Eternal Life on Christmas Day, the same day her dear mother left this world 50 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Giuseppe (1992), with whom she enjoyed 41 wonderful years of marriage and raised five children. Virginia also lost her beloved son, Loris, who went to Heaven in 2018. As a proud mother, she cherished Marilena, Loris and Carol, Deanna and Roger Fantuz, Pietro and Giselle, and Lissa and Matthew Scholl. As a devoted Nonna, she took joy in her grandchildren-Justin (Michaela), Andrew (Jaiyde), Ryan (Lauren), Alexander, Noah, Edward, and Nathalia-constantly amazed by their stories and inspired by their youthful energy. This year brought two family weddings for her to celebrate as well as the joy of becoming a bisnonna to her great-grandson Blake.
Born on March 3, 1925 in Azzano Decimo, Italy to Luigi and Antonia Facca, Virginia was the last surviving child from their ten children. She was predeceased by her siblings: Maria (Ivo) Mascarin, Luigia Facca, Pierina (Frank) Rossit, Antonietta (Narciso) Villalta, Giovanni (Maria) Facca, Zefferino, Olivo Agostino; and Antonio. She was also a treasured sister-in-law to the late Dino Villalta (Anne Marie) of France and Sergio (Rosemary) Villalta of Thunder Bay. Many relatives in Italy, France and Canada will miss her dearly; she held a special place in the hearts of Teresa and Rolando Catenacci as their Zia.
Virginia made the journey to Canada in 1952 to be reunited with Giuseppe after spending a year apart. A woman of many skills-she learned sewing from her older sister Luigia-and created beautiful pieces with great care. Her cooking and baking were expressions of love that everyone appreciated when gathered around her table. With a green thumb for gardening as well; Mamma grew stunning geraniums roses peonies hydrangeas while filling her garden with the lovely scents of sage rosemary basil.
This year we came together to celebrate Virginia’s milestone birthday at 100 years old filled with love joy gratitude for having had such an incredible person in our lives. Though our sharp-witted matriarch has departed from us now she will always hold a special place in our hearts forever.
The Villalta Family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joseph Datillo Dr. Tyceer Abouhassan Dr. Sarah Hanik for their continuous care support over these years along with special appreciation towards Bayshore St. Elizabeth staff for providing compassionate caregivers who regularly visited helped take care our mother.
Riposa in pace cara Mamma e Nonna. Il tuo amore vive per sempre nei nostri cuori.
