With great sadness, the family shares the news of Shane Prutchick’s passing on September 13, 2025, at the age of 41.

He was a loving husband and soulmate to Stephanie Mc Dowell. A devoted father and true superhero to Chloe, and a beloved stepfather to Lindsay and Megan Phillips. He was a cherished son of Tim and Jody Prutchick, as well as a brother and best friend to Mike Prutchick.

Shane was a precious grandson of the late Leo and Leah Marion, George Prutchick and Flora Gauthier, Maria and Louis Zagar, along with William and Donna Mc Dowell. He was also the son-in-law of Ken Mc Dowell and France Champoux, plus Ann Brenton (Mc Dowell) and Fred Brenton. As a brother-in-law to Michael Mc Dowell, he was a caring uncle to Leah. Many surviving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers will deeply miss him.

The family wants to express their gratitude to the first responders, bystanders, police officers, and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus – Trauma, OR, ICU, and the 6th Floor for their kindness during this time.

Memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Friday, September 19th from 10am until the Memorial Service starts at 12pm.

Since Shane never liked dressing up much at all, let’s honor that by keeping it casual-feel free to wear your favorite Metallica or Rock Band t-shirt proudly to the service.

In place of flowers, donations can be made to “Go Fund Me: Tecumseh Rd. Fiery Crash” in support of his family. Online condolences and treasured memories may be shared with them at www. windsorchapel. com
