With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of our dear mother, sister, aunt, and friend Roberta Margaret (Mc Donald) Mac Kean, who was 76 years old and lived in Loch Broom, NS.

She hailed from Westville and was the daughter of the late Mike and Tena (Mac Pherson) Mc Donald.

Most people knew her as Mrs. Mac Kean; she was a devoted teacher who truly cared for each child she taught and cherished every moment in her career.

After retiring, Roberta spent her time crocheting like always, enjoying family moments, and discovering a new love for bowling. She kept cheering for her favorite team, the Blue Jays, even fulfilling her dream by attending several games in Toronto and Boston. Roberta also had a long-standing passion for curling and attended many exciting curling events. She embraced life to the fullest.

Roberta is survived by her children Yvonne Barbour (Blair), Cheryl Mac Kean (Derek), Stacey Hardy (Greg), Tara Mac Kean (Ken), and William Harry Mac Kean Jr.; grandchildren Piper, Aiden, and Willow Barbour; Kenny and Logan Newcombe; Hayden, Kolby, Dominic, and Karley Hardy; Cameron and Eva Paynter; Lexi Mc Killop; sister Andrella Hodder (Fred); brother Mike Mc Donald (Joyce); sisters-in-law Janie Sampson (Bob) and Barb Mac Eachern (Bob).

She was predeceased by her loving partner Billie Mac Kean, sister Rebecca Mc Donald, brother-in-law James (Jimmie) Mac Kean, along with in-laws George and Eva Mackean.

Roberta is resting at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. Visiting hours are Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at 2 pm on Saturday, August 9 from Eagles Funeral Chapel in Westville. Burial will be at St. Bees Cemetery.

If you’d like to make a donation, please consider supporting the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit or St Bee’s Anglican Church.
