We are deeply saddened to share the news of our dear mother, sister, aunt, and friend Roberta Margaret (Mc Donald) Mac Kean, who passed away at the age of 76 in Loch Broom, NS.

She was originally from Westville and was the daughter of the late Mike and Tena (Mac Pherson) Mc Donald.

Most people knew her as Mrs. Mac Kean, a devoted teacher who cared for every child she taught and truly cherished her time in education.

After retiring, Roberta spent her time crocheting as usual, enjoying moments with family and discovering her new love for bowling. She also remained a loyal supporter of the Blue Jays, making her dream come true by attending games in Toronto and Boston. Curling was another passion of hers; she attended many exciting curling events. Roberta embraced life wholeheartedly.

Roberta is survived by her children Yvonne Barbour (Blair), Cheryl Mac Kean (Derek), Stacey Hardy (Greg), Tara Mac Kean (Ken), and William Harry Mac Kean Jr.; grandchildren Piper, Aiden, and Willow Barbour; Kenny and Logan Newcombe; Hayden, Kolby, Dominic, and Karley Hardy; Cameron and Eva Paynter; Lexi Mc Killop; sister Andrella Hodder(Fred); brother Mike Mc Donald (Joyce); sister-in-law Janie Sampson (Bob) and Barb Mac Eachern (Bob).

She was preceded in death by her beloved Billie Mac Kean; sister Rebecca Mc Donald; brother-in-law James (Jimmie) Mac Kean; along with in-laws George and Eva Mackean.

Roberta is resting at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at 2 pm on Saturday, August 9th from Eagles Funeral Chapel in Westville. Burial will follow at St. Bees Cemetery.

You can make donations to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit or St Bee’s Anglican Church.
