Michael Richard O’Mara passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, surrounded by his family at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus, at the age of 62. He was the loving husband of the late Michelle O’Mara (née Mitchell, 2017). He is survived by his father, Wally (Terry) Cushing. Michael was a devoted father to James (Chawntel), Kody, Kelsey (Dustin), and Eric (Lauren). He took great pride in being a grandfather to Peyton, Hunter, Abel, Noah, Braxton, Hudson, Olivia, Zoey and Cruz.
Michael dedicated many years to Chrysler and was an active member of Unifor Local 444. In addition to that role, he successfully operated his own cleaning business. Known for his hard work and kindness, Michael always made time for what he loved: boating on the water with his Seadoo and spending quality moments with family and friends-including Sam and Dizzy.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will occur at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel, located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:30 p. m., followed by a chapel service starting at 4:30 p. m.
The family would appreciate donations made in Michael’s memory to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation in honor of his late wife.
He will be missed deeply and remembered fondly by all who knew him-family and friends alike.
