HILTON, Mary Lou (Mac Kenzie)
November 20, 1935 – September 29, 2025
With great sadness, we share the news of Mary Lou Hilton’s passing at the age of 89. She was reunited with her husband Albert (2022) on their wedding anniversary. She was a loving mother to Craig, David and Douglas (Enza), and a proud Nana to Courtney (Jacob) Banks, Victoria (Austin Jennings) and Olivia. In heaven, she is now with her dear parents David and Mary (Mae) Mac Kenzie. Her grand-dogs Champ, Vinnie and Albert will also miss her dearly. Mary Lou appreciated all the love and support she received from the residents and staff at Kensington Court, which felt like home to her. After graduating from Riverside High School, she earned her nursing degree at Grace Hospital in 1956. Following that, she spent two years traveling around the world as a nurse before finishing her career with over twenty years at Ford Motor Company, where she made many lasting friendships during her long retirement.
Mary Lou will be remembered for being a devoted wife and mother. Her warm smile and generous spirit made everyone feel welcome. Whether it was listening attentively or cooking a favorite dish for someone in need, she left a positive mark on so many lives through her kindness and sincerity. She took great pride in her three grand-daughters and all that they achieved while encouraging them to be strong, compassionate individuals with purpose.
As a lifelong member of Riverside United Church, she enjoyed being part of the church Bell Choir and treasured coffee time each week with friends from church. A wide circle of family and friends will deeply miss Mary Lou but will carry forward fond memories of her spirit. Although she’s no longer physically present among us, those who loved her will keep her memory alive in their hearts.
Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Banwell Chapel), located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., (519)253-7235 on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 2 -5pm and again from 7 -9pm. The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10am in the chapel followed by interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens after the service concludes. In honor of Mary Lou’s memory donations may be made to Riverside United Church. You can share online memories or condolences with her family at www. windsorchapel. com
