Lino Natale Fabbro passed away peacefully at the age of 89 after bravely fighting cancer, just shy of his 90th birthday. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Originally from Orcenico Superiore, Italy, Lino moved to Canada when he was 18 in hopes of a better future. He is survived by his devoted wife Margaret, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years, and his daughters Idelma (Walter) Marcon and Denisa (David) Blackburn. He also embraced the role of stepfather to Jim (Lisa) and Cathy. Lino took great pride in being Nonno to Eddy, Amanda, Aaron, and Andria, as well as a beloved Bisnonno to several great-grandchildren. He was a dear brother to Guiditta and the late Rino Fabris and Giuseppe (Meri) Fabbro; the late Solidea (Rino) Rumiel; the late Rinaldo (Giulietta) Fabbro; and the late Luigi (Italia) Fabbro. Additionally, he was a caring brother-in-law to Barbara (Richard) Roettger and the late Brenda Collins. Lino’s warmth touched many nieces and nephews across Canada, Italy, and Argentina. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Rumiel’s for their unwavering support during this tough time.
Lino was proud to be one of the founding members of the Fogolar Furlan Club where he enjoyed friendship and good times with others. His career included many years at Eastern Construction followed by owning his own small business called Fabbro Construction. His craftsmanship and strong work ethic made an impact on his community. Outside of work, Lino loved tending to his garden and keeping his yard immaculate. He enjoyed woodworking too-creating beautiful stone pots for flowers that he happily shared with family and friends. His generosity, creativity, and love for nature will always be remembered fondly by those who knew him well.
The support from loving neighbors and friends during this time has meant so much to Lino’s family. His legacy is rooted in family bonds, friendships made over hard work, and embracing life’s simple pleasures. He will truly be missed but never forgotten.
