Josef Stenger passed away peacefully in palliative care on October 4, 2025, at the age of 96. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Edeltraud (nee Saloga) who left us in 1985, and his dear friend Mary Agnes Csiszar who passed in 2016. He was a cherished father to Margret Paré (Michael) and a loving Opa to Marcel Paré, Carmen Clayton (Joshua). He was also a great-Opa to Ethan, Mallory, Wesley and Audrey. Josef was a caring brother to Hans in Germany. He was predeceased by his parents Josef and Theresia Stenger as well as his brother Gregor who passed away in 1995.

Josef dedicated many years of service at John MM Troup Ltd. and Trojan Interior Contracting Ltd. He was a life long member of IUPAT Union and also part of the Teutonia Club. Additionally, he took pride in being a member of Bishop J. T. Kidd Council 4924 and held the title of a 4th Degree Member with the Rt. Rev. W. J. Langlois Assembly 1789 Knights of Columbus.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Lifetimes on Riverside, Dr. Sahar Khan, the Cancer Centre staff and nurses in the Chemo Suite, along with the doctors, nurses and staff at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare – Palliative Care and Hospice of Windsor for their exceptional care and kindness.

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., (519-253-7235) on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 5-8 pm with Knights of Columbus prayers starting at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church (2153 Parkwood Ave.) from 9:30 am until the Funeral Mass begins at 10:30 am. Interment will take place afterward at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Josef can be directed towards The Hospice of Windsor or the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation – Urology Fund. Online condolences and treasured memories can be shared with the family at www. windsorchapel. com
