With heavy hearts, we share the news that John Arthur Henry Griffiths, age 82, peacefully left us at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus on January 16, 2026.

He is now reunited with his beloved late wife Pauline ‘Paula’ (née Gauthier).

John was a proud father to Michelle Griffiths and James Griffiths (Suzanne), and he was adored by his grandsons Cooper and Keaton.

Born in Birkenhead, England, to the late Charles and Edith May (nee Waring). He was a loving brother to Charles (late Margaret), David (Linda), and the late Audrey Meacock. ‘Uncle John’ will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

After dedicating 39 years to Hiram Walkers, John retired where he also played an active role in the union.

John made a significant impact through Canadian Blood Services by donating blood over 200 times to help save lives.

Cycling brought him immense joy as he enjoyed the open road. He was also a dedicated supporter of Liverpool Football Club. His adventurous spirit, steady presence, and commitment to family and friends will always be remembered by those who knew him. John was actively involved in Tamiami Village with Paula in North Fort Myers, Florida, where they enjoyed their time as snowbirds.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the compassionate caregivers who supported John: Dr. Bradford from Ouellette Campus Emergency, Respiratory Therapist John, Nurses Jenna, Alif, and Reiley along with UNEs Diana and Maryam. Special thanks to Richmond Terrace’s amazing 3E Team for their gentle care. We appreciate the kind staff on Sunrise of Windsor’s 4th floor who enriched John’s stay and helped our family adjust during this time. A shoutout to all the wonderful Home Instead team members for their assistance at home too. And thanks to Dave for his conversations and physiotherapy support.

You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will occur at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor on Thursday, January 29 from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m., with Words of Remembrance starting at 6:30 p. m.

If you’d like to honor John’s memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada which would be greatly appreciated.
