PARENT, Jeannette Marie (nee Joinville).
Jeannette passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at the age of 74. She joins her beloved husband Gerry (2002) in heaven to celebrate what would have been their 53rd anniversary on August 21.
Daughter of the late Leonard (Theresa) Joinville.
Jeannette leaves behind her beloved boys Keith and wife Heather, Marcel and wife Lisa and Brian. Loving Meme to Noah, Simon, Liam, Callie and Ayla.
Companion to Bruce Surette and her fur baby Peppa.
Dear sister of Louise (Brad) Lewis and sister-in-law to Sister Linda Parent (CSJ), Theresa (Bill) Balazs, Denise (Kerry) Best, Elaine (Tim) Smith, Kevin (Mary) Parent and William “Billy” (Heidi) Parent.
Survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends who were like family. Jeannette was a 25+ year employee of the LCBO where she built many lifelong friendships. She spent many early years helping at the boys’ school, participating in social events dressing up like a clown to entertain the kids, playing darts at the old Knights of Columbus on Lauzon Rd. or out dancing at the Little Memphis with Gerry. Jeannette was also a fan of the slots at the casino, but it was all who were lucky enough to know her who hit the Jackpot. All who knew Jeannette knew her as a “Spitfire” – a lot of fire in a small package and she displayed that fire right to the very end.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at WRH Ouellette 8th Floor for their care during her hospitalization and HDGH T2B Palliative Care staff for their compassion and support during Jeannette’s final days.
Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME BANWELL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd East, Windsor, N8N 1L8 on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 4pm-8pm with words of remembrance at 7pm. Cremation will follow with internment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery on Friday August 28th, 2026 at 11am.
In honour of Jeannette’s memory donations can be made to her favourite charity, the Downtown Mission or T2B Palliative Care to help families and their loved ones in their final days.
