David James Daley
1940 – 2025 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Daley, a devoted father and dear friend to many, on October 2, 2025, at the age of 85 in Windsor, Ontario. Dave was born on January 28, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, to Thomas “Frank” Daley and Dorothy (née Maesenich) Daley (later McGrath). He is survived by his loving children: John (grandchild Blake), David and Lynn (grandchildren Keira, Rachel, Michael, and great-grandchild Walter), Judy (grandchildren Zoë, Sarah, Hannah, and Kaia), and Steve and Irene (grandchildren Emma and Max), all of whom he held dear. Dave had a rich life filled with hard work, loyal friendships, and care for others. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force before exploring various careers including pastor, gas station attendant, baker, and car salesman-each one showcasing a different side of him. His interests included motorcycles, cars, woodworking, sports, baking-and above all else-helping others. He had an amazing ability to connect with people he met; his warmth and sincerity drew others to him effortlessly. No matter where he went, Dave left a lasting impact. He was trusted by many and loved deeply. A gathering to honor Dave’s life will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd E., Windsor Ontario on Friday October 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests you remember Dave in your thoughts or prayers or feel free to share a story or memory in his honor; that would mean so much.
