Thomas (Tom) Patrick Nolan passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, surrounded by his family at Red Deer Regional Hospital. He was born on September 1, 1965, to Charlie and Myrna Nolan in Lacombe, Alberta. He married his loving wife Marilyn Nolan on November 3, 1990.

Tom had a wide range of interests including racing, mechanics, business, and travel. For over three decades, he co-owned Hopkins Construction and made significant contributions to the business. In his free time, Tom enjoyed everything about racing; he loved working on cars, researching parts, and spending time racing down the drag strip. His passion for racing took him all across Canada and the United States where he made many close friends along the way. Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona were two main stops on Tom’s annual racing schedule where he enjoyed great food, the thrill of the racetrack, and quality time with friends. He also owned Winners Choice Racing Products for many years which allowed him to share his love and expertise in racing with others. His love for travel led him and his family to places like Kelowna, Victoria, California, Hawaii, Madrid, and New York City where they created unforgettable memories.

Tom’s interests extended beyond travel for fun or racing. He treasured time spent with his family and devoted many years traveling for his sons’ sports as he loved watching them play and grow up. Attending soccer games was a particular joy for Tom; he even served as a coach with Lacombe Minor Soccer for several seasons. A highlight of Tom’s life as a soccer dad was when he attended the famous El Classico match at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in 2014. Boating was another favorite pastime for Tom’s family; they have countless summer memories spent out on the water.

Tom is preceded in death by his father Charlie Nolan; and father-in-law Hank Pluister. He will be remembered fondly by his wife Marilyn; sons Austin (Marissa) and Thomas; mother Myrna; sisters Kristen (Mike) Vig and Charlotte (Scott) Nelson; mother-in-law Mabel Pluister; brother-in-law Steven Pluister; sister-in-law Traci Pluister; along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place on July 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church.
