It breaks our hearts to share the unexpected passing of our son Terence George Rempel, age 48 on May 11, 2025 in Ashern, Manitoba.

Terry was born at the Dauphin General Hospital on March 26, 1977. He was the loving son of George Rempel and Heather Hogg, and step-son of Mary Rempel and Harold Hogg. Terry grew up as a free spirit on the farm and had a great time playing hockey and Ukrainian dancing. He went to Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School, graduating in 1995. To continue his education, Terry attended Reimer Trucking Driving School and followed in his father’s footsteps becoming a Semi Driver doing both short and long hauls across Canada and the USA.

Terry was a huge sports fan who loved watching Nascar, hockey, and football both live and on TV whenever he could. If you knew Terry, you’d know that he hated getting his picture taken and would often turn away or cover his face with his hat. But Terry had the most gorgeous, big smile! He enjoyed telling jokes, having fun, dancing, and indulging in sweets! – Boy did Terry have a sweet tooth!

Looking for new experiences, Terry worked in different communities throughout the three prairie provinces while gaining experience by working for various trucking companies. Whenever he was driving through a town where he knew someone lived, he’d call them up to drop by for a visit. Whether it was at their home or grabbing lunch at some random truck stop diner, Terry always made an effort to connect with those he cared about to catch up.

At the time of his passing, Terry finally found his place and settled in Ashern, MB with his partner and best friend Christie.

Terry is survived by his four wonderful children: Cassidy (16), Sapphyre (12), Zeyne (10) & Zyla (8). His father George (Mary) Rempel; mother Heather (Harold) Hogg; loving partner Christie; her daughter Renae; sisters Catharina and Cathleen; step-siblings Trina, Julie, Nathan, Marti, Sandra and Ty; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he adored.

A celebration of Terry’s life took place on Sunday May 25, 2025 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at Stride Place Sports Complex in the multi-purpose room located at 245 Royal Rd in Portage la Prairie, MB.

Love endures forever.
