We are heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of our son Terence George Rempel, who was 48 years old, on May 11, 2025, in Ashern, Manitoba.

Terry was born at the Dauphin General Hospital on March 26, 1977. He was the son of George Rempel and Heather Hogg, and he also had Mary Rempel and Harold Hogg as his step-parents. Growing up on the farm, Terry was a free spirit who loved playing hockey and dancing Ukrainian style. He graduated from Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School in 1995. After that, he attended Reimer Trucking Driving School and became a Semi Driver like his dad, taking both short and long hauls across Canada and the USA.

Terry was a big sports fan who enjoyed watching Nascar, hockey, and football whenever he could. If you knew him well, you’d know he wasn’t fond of having his picture taken; he often turned his head or hid behind his hat. But Terry had a huge smile that lit up any room. He loved telling jokes, having fun, dancing around, and indulging in sweets,he definitely had a sweet tooth!

Terry enjoyed exploring different places for work and lived in various towns across the three prairie provinces to gain more experience with different trucking companies. Whenever he passed through a town where friends lived, he’d always make an effort to stop by for a quick visit. Whether it was catching up in their living room or sharing lunch at a truck stop diner, Terry valued those connections with people he cared about.

At the time of his passing, Terry had finally settled down in Ashern, MB with his partner Christie who was also his best friend.

Terry leaves behind four wonderful children: Cassidy (16), Sapphyre (12), Zeyne (10), & Zyla (8). He is survived by his father George (Mary) Rempel; mother Heather (Harold) Hogg; loving partner Christie; her daughter Renae; sisters Catharina and Cathleen; step-siblings Trina, Julie, Nathan, Marti, Sandra and Ty; along with many cousins nieces nephews whom he loved dearly.

A celebration of Terry’s life took place on Sunday May 25th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Stride Place Sports Complex in Portage la Prairie MB.

Love & Remembrance lasts forever.
